Transaction Step by Step Guide!
In this article well break down how easy it is to buy, sell, and understand our secure transaction process.
Posting a New Listing
Learn how to post a new listing and verify your seller account!
Step One
Let's start with posting a new listing! Once you have logged in click on the "Post a new listing" button at the top right corner of the page.
Step Two
Select your listing type from drop down menu.
-Single Listing for One Item: This is your standard listing for a single item with one unit available for purchase.
-Single Listing for One Item with Limited Stock: Have a few units of the same item? This option allows you to list one item with multiple units available for purchase, but with a limited stock count.
-Single Listing for One Item with Infinite Stock: If you have an item that you can continuously supply, this listing type allows you to offer it with no stock limit.
-Single Listing for One Item with Infinite Stock (Multiple Purchasable): Similar to the infinite stock listing, but with the added ability for buyers to purchase multiple units at once.
Step Three
Select the category for your item and fill out all the details. Each category will have different fields tailored for the selected category (see list below). Make sure to be as descriptive as possible to attract potential buyers.
Fields for Automobile/Quad, Tri, Motorcycle/Watercraft:
Subcategory, Listing Title, Listing Description, Make (optional), Model/Part Number (optional), Year (optional), Mileage (optional) - Specify KM or M, Part, Type, Condition.
Fields for Wheels & Tires:
Subcategory, Listing Title, Listing Description, Make (optional), Model/Part Number (optional), Year (optional), Mileage (optional) - Specify KM or M, Offset, Condition, Bolt Pattern, Diameter, Width, Include Tires.
Step Four
Write the price for your item and the quantity available. Make sure to factor in the platform fee when setting your price.
Step Five
Choose your shipping options. You can select pickup, delivery, or both! Specify the suburb for pickup and set the price for shipping the item within New Zealand.
Step Six
Be sure to upload clear photos of the item. Multiple high-quality images help your listing stand out. After filling out all your details click publish and your listing will now be live on BoostBay!
Verification
Once your listing has been published, your seller account will need to be verified with Stripe Connect in order for your listings to be purchasable by the buyers. To get verified you will receive a notification, or you can navigate to your ->Account Settings->Payout Details->Edit Stripe Account.
Fill out all the required information, this process is quick and secure, protecting your personal information.
Stripe needs to know the bank to send the funds to if a buyer was to buy now. Verifying with Stripe not only prevents fraud, but also ensures faster and secure transactions building trust with users. It makes our marketplace safer when buyers know that they are buying from legitimate sellers and not just anyone who can make a profile.
Purchasing an Item
Learn how to use the platform to search for items, review listings and profiles, and make a purchase!
Step One
Browse or search for the parts you need. Use our filters on the left column and the search bar at the top center of the page to narrow down your search. Different fields are presented in the left column for the category you select.
Step Two
Click on a listing to view more details, including the seller's information and reviews. Click the contact button if you would like further information about the selected listing. When you are ready to purchase click the "Buy now" button.
Step Three
Enter your payment details! We use a secure SAFEPAY system to protect both buyers and sellers. The payment will be held securely until you receive and review the item!
Once you have filled out the required information click the "Confirm and pay" button to complete the order.

Step One (Buyer)
Here's how our transaction process works! The buyer can use the message box below when completing an order or when an order is placed to send messages to the seller.
Step Two (Seller)
When we switch to the seller's dashboard, we can see that the seller has a notification (message) in the inbox. When we open it up, we can see that the buyer has made an order and that there is a message confirming the purchase.
We can use the same message box to communicate with the buyer regarding the order.
When the seller is ready, they need to confirm that the order has been shipped on our system by pressing the "I've shipped this order" button on the right side.
Step Three (Buyer)
Now when we switch back to the buyer's interface, we can see that the buyer has received messages from confirming that the order has been shipped with the shipping details.
Now all the buyer needs to do check their order and confirm that the purchased item is in the described condition. If there is a problem with the order, a dispute can be lodged before any money is released to the seller. Allowing both parties to reach a settlement if required.
The dispute link is right below the "I've received my order" button on the right side.
When the buyer is happy with the received item all they need to do is click the "I've received my order" button. Once the buyer confirms the order the money will be released to the seller. The deal is now complete!
